INGREDIENTS:

  • ¾ cup milk, at 80ºF (27ºC) to 90ºF (32ºC)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup sliced fresh strawberries
  • ¾ cup quick oats
  • 1½ cups white bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon bread machine or instant yeast

 

PREPARATIONS:

  1. Place the first 7 ingredients (excluding the sliced strawberries) into your bread machine according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  2. Program the machine for Basic/White bread, and select the desired crust setting (light or medium). Press the Start button.
  3. When the machine signals or during the final 5 minutes of the second kneading cycle, gently fold in the sliced fresh strawberries into the dough.
  4. Once the bread cycle is complete, carefully remove the bucket from the machine.
  5. Allow the freshly baked bread to rest within the bucket for approximately 5 minutes.
  6. Gently shake the bucket to aid in releasing the loaf, then transfer it onto a cooling rack. Allow it to cool completely before slicing and enjoying.

 

TIPS:

  • To enhance the strawberry flavor, you can macerate the sliced strawberries by sprinkling them with a bit of sugar and allowing them to sit for a short time before folding them into the dough.
