Yield: 2–3 servings

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 2 teaspoons extra-light olive oil
  • Oil for misting or cooking spray
  • Salt and pepper

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Peel and Prepare the Potatoes: Start by peeling the potatoes. Then, using a mandoline or a sharp paring knife, carefully shave the potatoes into thin slices. As you cut them, drop the slices into a bowl of water to prevent browning.
  2. Dry and Coat the Potato Slices: Thoroughly dry the potato slices using paper towels or a clean dish towel. Toss the dried potato slices with the extra-light olive oil, ensuring each slice is coated evenly.
  3. Prep the Air Fryer: Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. This step is essential for achieving perfectly crispy chips.
  4. Cook the Potato Slices: Add the coated potato slices to the air fryer basket. Stir and separate the slices with a fork to prevent them from sticking together. Cook at 390°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  5. Stir and Continue Cooking: After the initial 5 minutes, stir and separate the potato slices once again. This step promotes even cooking and browning. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Final Cooking and Seasoning: Repeat the process of stirring and separating the potato slices. Cook for a final 5 minutes until the chips are beautifully golden and crispy.
  7. Season and Enjoy: Once cooked to your desired level of crispiness, season the potato chips with salt and pepper to taste. Allow them to cool slightly before indulging in the satisfying crunch.

TIP:

  • The beauty of these potato chips lies in their crispy outer edges and slightly chewy centers. If you prefer an even brown color, you can remove the browned chips and continue cooking the others until all the centers are completely brown.

Embrace the art of making your own perfectly crispy and mouthwatering Potato Chips. As you savor each chip, you’ll appreciate the effort that goes into crafting this delightful snack. From kids to adults, these chips are bound to disappear quickly, so be sure to make an extra batch!
