INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 bread slices, 1-inch thick
  • Olive oil for misting
  • 24 slices pepperoni (about 2 ounces)
  • 1 ounce roasted red peppers, drained and patted dry
  • 1 ounce Pepper Jack cheese, cut into 4 slices
  • Pizza sauce (optional)

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Begin by spraying both sides of the bread slices with olive oil.
  2. Stand the bread slices upright and carefully cut a deep slit in the top, creating a pocket that goes almost to the bottom crust but not all the way through.
  3. Stuff each bread pocket with 6 slices of pepperoni, a generous strip of roasted red pepper, and a slice of Pepper Jack cheese.
  4. Place the stuffed bread pockets in the air fryer basket, standing them up. Cook at 360°F for 8 to 10 minutes, until the filling is heated through and the bread has achieved a light, golden-brown color.
  5. Serve the Pepperoni Pockets while they’re hot. You can enjoy them as they are, or offer pizza sauce on the side for dipping, if desired.

 

COOK’S NOTE:

  • If you opt for a “ready-to-bake” loaf of bread, it has already undergone partial cooking. Therefore, you’ll only need to bake it for a short time to heat it through and achieve a golden-brown exterior. Follow the same steps above, using the unbaked bread as is.
