INGREDIENTS:

  • ¼ teaspoon dried basil
  • ¼ teaspoon marjoram
  • ¼ teaspoon ground oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 whole 6-inch pitas, whole grain or white
  • oil for misting or cooking spray

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Begin by mixing all the aromatic seasonings together to create a flavorful blend.
  2. Cut each pita half into 4 wedges, breaking apart the wedges at the fold to create manageable pieces.
  3. Gently mist one side of the pita wedges with oil to ensure a crisp texture. Sprinkle half of the prepared seasoning mix over the misted side.
  4. Turn the pita wedges over and repeat the misting process on the other side. Sprinkle the remaining seasoning mix over the wedges.
  5. Place the seasoned pita wedges in the air fryer basket and set the temperature to 330°F. Let them cook for 2 minutes.
  6. After 2 minutes, give the basket a gentle shake to ensure even cooking, then continue to cook for an additional 2 minutes. If necessary, give them another shake and cook for an additional 1 or 2 minutes until they turn crisp and golden brown. Keep a close eye on them, as they will cook quickly in this stage.

  • Keep in mind that the smooth side of the chips may appear slightly browner than the rough side after cooking.
