Candied Pecans

These little candies are deliciously addictive. You may substitute other nuts if you like.

INGREDIENTS | YIELD: 2 cups

  • ½ cup water
  • 2 cups white sugar, divided
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 2 cups pecans
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine water, 1 cup of the sugar, cinnamon, and black pepper in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then add the pecans.
  2. Cook and stir the mixture until all the liquid has evaporated.
  3. Pour the pecans onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow pecans to cool for about 10 minutes, then pour remaining 1 cup sugar and the kosher salt over them. Toss to coat.
  4. Store in an airtight container.
