Crab Toasts

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 6-ounce can flaked crabmeat, well drained
  • 3 tablespoons light mayonnaise
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 loaf artisan bread, French bread, or baguette, cut into slices ⅜-inch thick

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Prepare the Crab Mixture:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flaked crabmeat, light mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, and shredded Parmesan cheese. Mix these ingredients until they form a well-blended mixture.

 

Assemble the Toasts:

  1. Spread a thin layer of the crabmeat mixture onto each slice of bread. The amount of crab mixture needed will depend on the size of your bread slices. For a bread slice measuring approximately 2 x 1½ inches, you will require about ½ tablespoon of the crab mixture.

 

Air Fryer Cooking:

  1. Arrange the prepared crab toasts in a single layer within the air fryer basket. Cook at 360°F (180°C) for approximately 5 minutes, or until the tops of the toasts turn golden brown and crispy.

 

Repeat for Remaining Batches:

  1. Repeat step 3 as needed to cook the remaining crab toasts, ensuring that each batch is cooked to perfection.

 

TIP:

  • These are a great make-ahead snack for the freezer. Follow steps 1 and 2 above, then place uncooked crab toasts on a cookie sheet and freeze. Store in freezer bags or sealed containers until ready to use. Do not thaw. Place frozen crab toasts in air fryer and cook as directed above, adding about 2 minutes to your total cooking time

 

NOTE:

  • Drain the crabmeat very well. If you mix the filling ingredients and liquid collects in the bottom of the bowl, discard it.
