Vanilla Custard

MAKES: 1L.

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup Ensure® vanilla powder
  • 2½ cups full cream milk
  • 300g thickened cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 2.5 tbsp corn flour
  • 180g caster sugar

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Place milk and cream into a saucepan and heat until hot (be careful not to boil).
  2. Whisk together sugar, corn flour, egg yolks and Ensure® powder. Pour on hot milk and whisk well to combine.
  3. Add vanilla essence to mixture and return to gentle heat for 1-2 minutes without boiling. Serve hot or cold.
