  • 1 large fresh basil leaf, torn

 

PREPARATIONS:

  1. Combine the ground tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, garlic, and salt in a deep bowl or other deep container.
  2. Use an immersion blender to puree the ingredients until smooth.
  3. Stir in the hand-crushed tomatoes and torn basil leaf.

 

YIELD:

  • 3 ¾ cups (930 grams) of Sicilian Tomato Sauce.
