Serving and preparation time:
This recipe makes about 2 cups of hot fudge sauce.
The total preparation time for this recipe is about 15 minutes. The active preparation time is about 10 minutes, with 5 minutes for cooling.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  2. Add the chocolate chips, corn syrup, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt to the saucepan and whisk until the chocolate chips are melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Allow the sauce to cool slightly, then pour it into a heat-proof container and let it cool to room temperature.
  5. Once the sauce has cooled, you can use it immediately or store it in the refrigerator for later use. To reheat, simply warm it in the microwave or on the stove until it reaches your desired consistency.

Note: The sauce will thicken as it cools, so if you prefer a thinner sauce, simply add a bit more heavy cream or warm it up slightly before using. Additionally, you can try adding other flavors to the sauce, such as peanut butter, caramel, or nuts, to create a customized version of hot fudge sauce.
