INGREDIENTS:

  • ½ cup plus 1 tablespoon milk, at 70ºF (21ºC) to 80ºF (27ºC)
  • 2²⁄₃ tablespoons melted butter, cooled
  • ²⁄₃ teaspoon minced garlic
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • ²⁄₃ teaspoon salt
  • ¹⁄₃ cup grated Asiago cheese
  • 1¾ cups plus 1 tablespoon white bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon bread machine or instant yeast
  • ¹⁄₃ cup mashed roasted garlic

PREPARATIONS:

  1. Embark on your culinary journey by placing all the listed ingredients, except the roasted garlic, into your bread machine. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended order to ensure a seamless blending of flavors.
  2. Select the Basic/White bread setting on your machine, indicating your intention to craft a loaf that’s rich in both flavor and aroma. Opt for the light or medium crust setting, and then press the Start button to initiate the baking process.
  3. As the machine works its magic, the ingredients merge together to create a tantalizing mixture that embodies the essence of indulgence.
  4. When the machine signals or about 5 minutes before the last kneading cycle is complete, introduce the star of the show: the mashed roasted garlic. This step ensures that the robust essence of garlic permeates every slice.
  5. With the baking cycle completed, remove the bread bucket from the machine. Allow the bread to cool within the bucket for about 5 minutes, allowing any lingering heat to gently dissipate.
  6. Gently shake the bread bucket to release the freshly baked loaf. Transfer the loaf onto a cooling rack, where it can continue to cool down and achieve the perfect eating temperature.
