Since it is difficult to come by ashta, you can make your own. But it requires time and patience.
MAKES: ⅖ Cup
INGREDIENTS:
- 2½ Cups (593ml) whipping cream
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Pour the cream into a heatproof bowl and allow to simmer gently in a water bath for 1½ to 3 hours, until it begins to thicken. Do not stir the cream and make sure that it does not boil.
- Remove the bowl and let it stand in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours. Lift up the thick and creamy surface with a perforated ladle. Stir until it is smooth and supple.
