Dashi Dipping Sauce

  • 1/4 cup mirin (or 2 tablespoons honey or sugar mixed with 2 tablespoons water)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a small pot, combine the Dashi, mirin, and soy sauce.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Turn off the heat and let the sauce cool.
  4. Use immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

 

QUICK ADDITIONS TO DASHI DIPPING SAUCE:

Once you’ve prepared the base sauce, feel free to customize it by adding any of the following ingredients to enhance the flavors according to your taste:

  • Ginger: About 1 tablespoon grated fresh or 1 teaspoon ground.
