ASHTA PUDDING

Ashta can also be made into a type of pudding that you can cook yourself.

MAKES: 6-8 portions

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 Cups (1⅖ l) milk
  • 2 Cups (240g) powdered sugar
  • ⅖ Cup (51g) cornstarch
  • 2 Tablespoons rose water
  • 1 Tablespoons orange blossom water or raisins

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Boil 5 cups (1⅕ liters) of milk, add powdered sugar, and whisk until the sugar has dissolved.
  2. Dissolve the cornstarch in the remaining cold milk.
  3. Let the pot stand over medium heat and add the thickener while whisking continuously.
  4. When the milk begins to thicken, add the rose water and the orange blossom water.
  5. Add raisins if you want. Garnish with candied orange flowers and ground pistachios.
