Apple Crumble

Serves: 10.

 

INGREDIENTS:

CRUMBLE:

  • ¾ cup flour
  • ½ cup oats
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 85g butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

 

APPLE MIX: 

  • 1¼ cups Ensure® Vanilla Powder
  • 1.2kg tinned apples
  • ¼ cup caster sugar
  • 2 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • Juice from ½ lemon

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 ̊C. Combine the flour, sugar, butter, cinnamon and oats in a mixing bowl.
  2. Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour mixture until the mixture is well combined and is crumbly to touch.
  3. Place apples, sugar, lemon juice and spices in a pot and cook until apples are soft.
  4. Add Ensure® Vanilla powder and stir through. Spoon the apples onto a baking tray. Scatter the crumble mixture evenly over the apples. Bake in oven for 20 minutes or until golden.
  5. Allow to rest to cool, but serve warm. Serve with ice cream or cream
