INGREDIENTS:

  • 5 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 6 tablespoons margarine, melted
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Cream the Margarine and Sugar:
    • In a mixing bowl, cream together the margarine and sugar until well combined.
  2. Add the Egg and Mix:
    • Add the egg to the margarine and sugar mixture, and continue mixing until smooth.
  3. Combine the Dry Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  4. Gradually Add Dry Ingredients and Milk:
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk.
    • Mix until the batter is smooth and well incorporated.
  5. Preheat and Grease:
    • Preheat the oven to 350ºF (175ºC).
    • Grease the muffin tins with margarine.
  6. Fill Muffin Tins:
    • Fill each greased muffin tin halfway with the prepared doughnut batter.
  7. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the doughnuts turn golden brown.
  8. Prepare the Topping:
    • While the doughnuts are baking, prepare the topping.
    • In a shallow dish, combine the cinnamon and sugar for the coating.
